Missing US Extreme Skier Hilaree Nelson Found Dead After Falling from Mt Manaslu on Sep 26

Hilaree Nelson fell off the 8,163-meter (26,775-foot) summit of the world's eighth-highest Mount Manaslu mountain.

Hilaree was skiing down Manaslu after successfully climbing the world’s eight-highest mountain with partner Jim Morrison.

Hilaree was the first woman to summit two 8000-meter peaks (Everest and Lhotse) in one 24-hour push in 2012

US Extreme Skier Hilaree Nelson was considered as one of the finest mountaineers of her generation.

In 2018, she and her partner Jim Morrison became the first people to ski down Mount Lhotse in Nepal, the world's fourth-highest peak.

In 2018, she was awarded the National Geographic Adventurer of the Year award after making the first ski down Lhotse that year.

On Sunday she was given a traditional funeral at a Sherpa cremation ground in Kathmandu.
